Purpose First, Process Second
Organizations sometimes elevate the pursuit of process over purpose and are surprised at the results. Process alone is not the end goal. Never was, never will be. It can feel great flying down the highway and making progress on your cross-country trip but, if your destination is San Francisco and you are heading to Seattle, you will ultimately be disappointed. Process will enable you to achieve results and is important, but maintain the right perspective. First, make sure that you are doing the right things and headed in the right direction. Then make sure you are doing things right.
